Chopped Pure NZ Galloway Beef Sausages recalled due to Undeclared Allergen

Chopped Limited is recalling its Chopped brand Pure NZ Galloway Beef Thin Beef Sausages and Beef Traditional Beef Sausages due to the presence of an undeclared allergen: gluten. The products were distributed throughout the South Island via a mobile shop at local farmers' markets on May 9 and 10, 2025. This recall does not affect any other Chopped brand products. The issue was identified during routine testing, which revealed the presence of gluten in the affected items.AFFECTED PRODUCTS:
PRODUCT: Chopped brand Pure NZ Galloway Beef Thin Beef Sausages
PRODUCT: Chopped brand Pure NZ Galloway Beef Traditional Beef Sausages
- Both are sold in 460g plastic trays.
- The batch has a best-before date of May 19, 2025.
- The recall does not affect any other Chopped brand products
- The products have not been exported.
Consumers with a gluten allergy or intolerance are advised not to consume these products and to return it to where they were purchased.
