Update December 4th, 2025:The recall for Daesang brand Gochujang has been expanded to include additional Red Pepper Paste products that also contain undeclared wheat. The updated recall now covers multiple products and sizes distributed across Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan in Canada.
Newly added affected products (all codes where wheat is not declared):
- Daesang – Chal Gochujang (Red Pepper Paste), 200 g, UPC: 8801052801773
- Daesang – Less Spicy Red Pepper Paste, 1 kg, UPC: 8801052452180
- Daesang – Hot Pepper Bean Paste, 1 kg, UPC: 8801052435022
- Daesang – Hot Pepper Bean Paste, 3 kg, UPC: 8801052435091

Daesang brand Gochujang (Spicy Red Pepper Paste) has been recalled because it contains an undeclared allergen, wheat. The product was sold in Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec in Canada. One reaction has been reported in connection with the product.
Affected products:

- UPC: 8801052802022
- CODE: 2025.10.29
The recall, announced on 21 August 2025, was triggered by a consumer complaint and was classified as Class II.
