EXTRA LEAN Celebrity 96% FAT FREE IMPORTED HAM - recalled due to importation without benefit of import reinspection

1 year ago source fsis.usda.gov

Recall notice

California, United States

The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 11,016 pounds of ready-to eat ham products by Olymel, the importer of record located in Boucherville, Quebec, Canada, that were not presented for import reinspection into the United States. These products were shipped to distributors and retail locations in California. There have been no confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions linked to this recall.

The recalled product is:
- 12-lb. vacuum packed red cross hatch packages containing “EXTRA LEAN Celebrity 96% FAT FREE IMPORTED HAM WATER ADDED” with lot code 23208, 23212 or 23221 printed on the side of the immediate packaging. It bears Canadian establishment number 180 printed inside the Canadian inspection mark located on the label.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities of imported products, and it was determined that the products were not presented for reinspection.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ or retailers’ refrigerators or freezers. Do not consume the affected product.

In case you experience harm from this product, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
