Tas Tematic Foods Inc. is recalling its Frozen Raw Easy Peel shrimp due to high levels of Nitrofuran, a chemical contaminant. The product was distributed to two locations in California. The recall was initiated voluntarily by the company.The affected product is:
- 2-lb bag of Frozen Raw Easy Peel shrimp
- Packaged in a generic brown cardboard box
- With a UPC code of 021130123223.
- The lot code is 25 085 ID02 170035
- With an expiration date of March 26, 2027.
- A total of five cases are being recalled.
The issue was discovered when the product, which was on FDA hold, was inadvertently distributed. The recall is classified as Class II and was initiated on August 29, 2025, with the classification date on September 26, 2025.
