The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the Food Inspection Division of the City of Montreal and the company Gourmet Végé, located at 556 , avenue Meloche, in Dorval , warns the public not to consume certain Gourmet Végétarien hummus, because these products are likely to contain the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes. These products were sold in several establishments in the province of Quebec. No illnesses have been reported to the MAPAQ to date.

The affected products are:
- Gourmet Végétarien Hummus Classique, 240 g, Lot 120701, Expiration date: 16AU22
- Gourmet Végétarien Hummus Piment Rôti, 240 g, Lot 120703, Expiration date: 16AU22
- Gourmet Végétarien Baba Ghanouj, 240 g, Lot 120705, Expiration date: 16AU22

These products were packaged in clear plastic containers and sold chilled. The label of the products includes, in addition to their denominations, the mention “Végétarien Gourmet”.

If you have the affected products in your home, please do not eat them, throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.

In case you are experiencing listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care. /Went to the business around 5pm on 9/11/2022 to pick up an order that I called ahead for Dinner. Noticed it took longer than usual to be put together. See More As couple we immediately sat down & began to eat. my girlfriend within 10 mins of eating stated she didn't like how certain things tasted & only had small or midsize portions of the House Lo Mein, shrimp Tempura Roll & Chicken Fried Rice. I ate two good size portions as she watched me from across the table & finished my plate. She stated that she wasn't feeling well less than 30 mins later. We each showered then laid down to rest watching news on TV. She kept having to go to the bathroom to relieve herself. I was not able to fall asleep feeling "queezy".
