The FSAI announced the recall of Häagen-Dazs Duo Vanilla Crunch Collection ice cream due to the presence of the unauthorized pesticide ethylene oxide. Ethylene oxide is a pesticide that is not permitted for use in foods sold in the EU but is approved for use by other countries outside the EU.The recalled product is:
- Häagen-Dazs Duo Vanilla Crunch Collection, pack size: 4x95ml, Best before date: 23/3/2023, Country Of Origin: France
Although the consumption of the contaminated product does not pose an acute risk to health, there is an increased risk if there is continued consumption of ethylene oxide in contaminated food over a long period of time. Therefore, exposure to ethylene oxide needs to be minimized.
If you are experiencing symptoms after eating any of these products it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist seek medical attention.
