Recall notice

Häagen-Dazs Vanilla & Vanilla Collection -recalled due to unauthorized pesticide

3 years ago source fsai.ie

Ireland

The FSAI announced the recall of Häagen-Dazs Vanilla tub and Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Collection ice cream due to the presence of the unauthorized pesticide ethylene oxide. Ethylene oxide is a pesticide that is not permitted for use in foods sold in the EU but is approved for use by other countries outside the EU.

The recalled products are:
- Häagen-Dazs Vanilla (tub), pack size: 460ml, All best before dates up to and including 21st May 2023. Country Of Origin: France
-Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Collection, pack size: 4x95ml, All best before dates up to and including 21st May 2023. Country Of Origin: France

Although the consumption of the contaminated product does not pose an acute risk to health, there is an increased risk if there is continued consumption of ethylene oxide in contaminated food over a long period of time. Therefore, exposure to ethylene oxide needs to be minimized.

Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batches.

If you are experiencing symptoms after eating any of these products it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist seek medical attention.
