Hannaford Supermarkets has issued a public health alert for its 80% and 85% Lean Ground Beef, sold between April 4-16 at select stores in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. The recall is due to potential E.coli contamination, as advised by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. The potential contamination was discovered during routine testing by the manufacturer, Greater Omaha Packing Co. No illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
