United States

The FSIS is issuing a public health alert due to concerns that fully cooked summer sausage products may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically plastic. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase. These products were shipped to retail locations in Kansas and Missouri and additional locations through online sales. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

These products were produced on July 13, 2022, and bear the establishment number “EST. 31865” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
