The MAPAQ, in collaboration with Fromagerie La Bourgade inc., located at 818, boulevard Frontenac Est, in Thetford Mines, is recalling THE COMMUNE - LITTLE SPIKES because the product contains sesame without it being mentioned on the label. This product was offered for sale until May 25, 2023, in several establishments in the Chaudière-Appalaches region. No case of allergic reaction associated with the consumption of this product has been reported to MAPAQ to date.
The recalled product is:
- La COMMUNE - Spicy petits, 50g and 200g, Units sold until May 25, 2023, The product label included, in addition to its name, the words 'LA BOURGADE FROMAGERIE'.
This warning applies only to people who suffer from a sesame allergy. Additionally, affected individuals who have this product in their possession are advised not to consume it. They must return it to the establishment where they bought it or throw it away.

The product subject to the public health alert bears the establishment number “EST. 18235” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The issue was discovered by the retailer after a store employee identified a case of RTE Plant-Based Chicken Noodle Soup product bearing the correct top label but incorrect front and back labels. FSIS is issuing this public health alert to ensure that consumers are aware that these products should not be consumed.
FSIS advises that these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase.

We bought a fruit basket that contained a cantaloup from a local organization. That's on October 25th. We served it to our 20 months old son, he loved it and ate the entire thing in two days. After a call to 811 (health line) we went straight to the emergency. There we waited 10 hours and he kept getting worse. He was on intravenous treatment for 10 days. Followed by 10 days of oral mega doses (8ml/3 times a day) for an additional 10 days. It was a hard time, and he still has so post traumatic reactions (doesn't like to be touched where the catheter was), and his digestion is not back to it's former state. We are simple thankful that it was caught in time. The fever started I bought a fruit basket on October 25. This one contained a cantaloupe. We cut it and served it to our 20-month-old son, who ate it over two days. Two days later, he started to have an interminent fever, and then diarrhea occurred. At first he seemed to keep his spirits up but then there was blood in his stool. From that moment on we were in the hospital and for 1 week I had to be on intravenous treatment. The battery was in his blood, he had septicemia. Once these were completed, he was prescribed a mega dose of antibiotic (8ml 3 times a day) for an additional 10 days. He was completely traumatized, so were we. His intestinal flora has not fully recovered, and he still has some post-traumatic reactions. All of them have been hospitalized, one person got sick during their pregnancy and had a preterm labor, and 1 death has been reported from California. Sick people’s samples were collected from August 22, 2018, to August 16.
On October 23, the FDA collected a sample of HMC Farms peaches for testing and found Listeria in it. On November 6, WGS showed that the Listeria in the peaches are closely related to bacteria from sick people. This means that people likely got sick from eating these peaches.
On November 17, HMC Farms recalled whole peaches, plums, and nectarines sold in stores nationwide between May 1 and November 15 in 2022 and 2023. These products were sold in 2lb bags branded “HMC Farms” or ”Signature Farms”. Also sold as individual fruit with a sticker that has “USA-E-U” and a number Yellow peach: 4044 or 4038, White peach: 4401, Yellow nectarine: 4036 or 4378, White nectarine: 3035, Red plum: 4042 and Black plum: 4040. Conventional fruit (not organic).
