July 13th, 2025:
LLK TRADING INC. of Linden, NJ, is recalling its 200g packages of "Needle Mushrooms" because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria. The recalled "Needle Mushrooms" were distributed to Bally Produce Corp. located at 4900 Maspeth Ave, Maspeth, NY 11378, and were sold to DATANG SUPERMARKET INC.
Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The product comes in a 200-gram, clear plastic packaging on the top and blue (non-transparent) on the bottom.
The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by the FDA revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the package they sampled.
Vending of the product has been suspended while the FDA and the company continue their investigation as to the source of the contamination.
