Recall notice

Marie Callender’s Beef Shepherd’s Pie- recalled due to extraneous materials

2 years ago source fsis.usda.gov

United States

The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 2,717 pounds of frozen Marie Callender’s beef shepherd’s pie by Conagra Brands, Inc. because they may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically clear, flexible plastic. This product was shipped to retail customer distribution centers in California, Colorado, Oregon, and Utah, and further distributed nationwide. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

The recalled product is:
- 4.31 lbs. cases of “MC Beef Shepherd’s Pie” with lot code 5006306020, BEST BY FEB 24 2024 and case code 2113100032, containing six 11.5 oz. carton packages of "Marie Callender’s BEEF SHEPHERD’S PIE” with lot code 5006306020 and BEST BY FEB 24 2024 on the side panel, with time stamps ranging between 17:45-17:56.

This product was produced on March 1, 2023, with time stamps ranging between 17:45-17:56 hours., and bears the establishment number “EST 233” next to the USDA mark of inspection on the case and above the “BEST BY DATE” on the side panel of the individual product.

The problem was discovered when the firm received consumer complaints reporting pieces of clear, flexible plastic in the product, and notified FSIS of the situation.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

In case you experienced harm from extraneous materials, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
