Old Irish Creamery Cheese is recalling specific batches of its cheddar cheese products due to the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The products have been distributed across Ireland.The recalled products include various sizes and weights of Old Irish Creamery Cheese cheddar cheese, with different batch codes. The products bear the approval number IE 1059 EC and have various best before dates. The exact quantity of recalled products has not been disclosed. The issue was discovered during routine testing. The presence of Listeria monocytogenes can cause mild flu-like symptoms or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In rare cases, the infection can be severe, causing serious complications. The incubation period is on average 3 weeks but can range between 3 and 70 days.
