1 month ago source fsai.ie

Recall notice

Ireland

Palm Sugar has been recalled due to the presence of an undeclared allergen, sulphur dioxide. The product, originating from Thailand, has been distributed across Ireland. The issue was discovered when sulphur dioxide was detected in these specific batches of Palm Sugar. This allergen was not declared in the list of ingredients, making the product potentially unsafe for consumers who are allergic or intolerant to sulphur dioxide. As a result, the affected batches are being recalled.

The product in question is:
- Palm Sugar
- Sold in 200g packs.
- The batches affected by this recall are:
260724 with a best-before date of 26/07/2026
301123 with a best-before date of 30/11/2025.

Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to return it to where they purchased it.

In case you experience harm from allergens or undeclared ingredients, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
