Food Safety Report: Perdue & ButcherBox Chicken Breast Nuggets and Tenders recalled due to metal presence

3 weeks ago source fsis.usda.gov

Recall notice

United States

Perdue Foods LLC is recalling approximately 167,171 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken breast nuggets and tenders products due to potential foreign matter contamination, specifically metal, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). These items were distributed to retail locations nationwide in the United States and sold online directly to consumers.

The recalled products include 22-oz. vacuum-sealed plastic packages of "PERDUE Simply Smart ORGANICS Breaded CHICKEN BREAST NUGGETS", 29-oz. vacuum-sealed plastic packages of "PERDUE CHICKEN BREAST TENDERS", and 22-oz. vacuum-sealed packages of "BUTCHERBOX Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets". The pictures below show these details including instructions on how to identify packages included in the recall.

All products have a Best If Used By date of "03 23 25" and bear the establishment number "P-33944". The issue was identified after the company received consumer complaints about metal wire embedded in the product.

In case you experience harm from extraneous materials, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
