7 months ago source fsis.usda.gov

United States

Kayem Foods Inc. is recalling approximately 24,173 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken sausage products due to potential contamination with plastic pieces. These products were distributed to retail locations nationwide in the USA.

The recall involves:
- ALL NATURAL al fresco CHICKEN SAUSAGE SWEET APPLE with Vermont-made syrup
- 11-oz. vacuum-packed packages containing four pieces
- Marked with lot code "179"
- "USE/FRZ BY" date of "OCT 01 2025."
- The packages bear the establishment number "P-7839."

The issue was identified following consumer complaints about plastic pieces in the product. The recall was initiated on July 17, 2025, and is classified as a Class II recall by the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

If you or a loved one are harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
