Update February 3rd, 2026:Authorities have issued Update 5 to FSAI Food Alert 2026.01, expanding the recall to include one additional batch of SMA First Infant Milk (800g) due to the possible presence of cereulide toxin.
Newly affected batch:
PRODUCT: SMA First Infant Milk
- Pack size: 800g
- Batch code: 53390346AB
- Expiry date: December 2027
Nestlé is recalling this additional batch as part of the ongoing investigation. Recall notices will be displayed at points of sale.
The investigation remains linked to the potential presence of cereulide toxin, which can cause nausea and severe vomiting.

Update January 13th, 2026:
Authorities have issued a further update to the SMA infant formula and follow-on formula recall, warning that additional batches and products may have been indirectly distributed to Ireland from the UK.
This update (FSAI Food Alert 2026.01 – Update 4) expands the scope of the recall due to the possible presence of cereulide toxin in further SMA products.
Nestlé is advising customers who have purchased any affected products to contact them via their online form or careline for further assistance.

Updated January 9th, 2025:
Authorities have clarified the expiry date for SMA Advanced Follow-On Milk (800g), batch 51890742F2. The correct expiry date is July 2027 (previously listed differently).
This update follows earlier notices issued under FSAI Food Alert 2026.01 and subsequent updates. Recall notices will continue to be displayed at points of sale.

Update January 7th, 2025:
Authorities have expanded the recall of SMA Alfamino infant formula (400g) to include an additional batch, 51700017Y1 (expiry date: June 2027).
Officials also clarified that the correct expiry date for batch 51210017Y1 is May 2027.
Recall notices will be displayed at points of sale, and consumers are advised not to feed the affected batches to infants or young children.
