Recall notice

Sona Red Yeast Rice recalled due to elevated level of monacolin K

1 year ago source fsai.ie

Ireland

Sona has issued a recall for its Red Yeast Rice product due to an elevated level of monacolin K. The product has been distributed through various retail outlets across Ireland.

People who consume monacolin K from red yeast rice supplements in an amount greater than 3mg per day may experience several adverse effects.

The product recalled is the Sona Red Yeast Rice Standardised Monacolin K, packaged in 60 capsule containers. All batch codes and best before dates are included in this recall. The product originates from France.

Wholesalers/distributors are requested to contact their affected customers and recall the implicated product and provide a point-of-sale recall notice to their retailer customers. Consumers are advised not to take the implicated product.

If you or a loved one are harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
