- WHOLE FOODS MARKET KITCHENS Birria-Inspired Beef Soup with Hominy. 24-oz. plastic cups. “USE BY 01/02/24”. Lot code 11183. The top of the plastic cups may be labeled “WHOLE FOODS MARKET KITCHENS Plant-Based Chicken Noodle Soup MADE WITH PLANT-BASED PROTEIN. DOES NOT CONTAIN CHICKEN.”
The product subject to the public health alert bears the establishment number “EST. 18235” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The issue was discovered by the retailer after a store employee identified a case of RTE Plant-Based Chicken Noodle Soup product bearing the correct top label but incorrect front and back labels. FSIS is issuing this public health alert to ensure that consumers are aware that these products should not be consumed.
FSIS advises that these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to specific sesame seed, coconut, soy, wheat, milk and egg run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. Pan de Racho, Panque, and Pan Surtido were distributed in Iowa and Wisconsin by direct delivery to retail stores. We have had no illnesses reported to date.
Pan de Racho can be identified by individually packed and it contains sesame seeds and colorful pink color stripes, and it’s packed in a clear plastic bag and label. Panque is in a clear plastic bag individually packed and labeled. Flan,Chocoflan and Tres Leches are packed in clear container and labeled Pan Surtido is Identified in metal trays. The product has been delivered by direct delivery thru November 28,2023.
These products would be suspended until Lara’s Bakery is certain that the problem has been corrected.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that products containing sesame, coconut, soy, wheat, milk, and eggs were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of these allergens. The product had already been distributed to retail stores in the state of Iowa and Wisconsin.

We bought a fruit basket that contained a cantaloup from a local organization. That's on October 25th. We served it to our 20 months old son, he loved it and ate the entire thing in two days. That same weekend he started to experience intermittent fever, and... See More Halloween the Diahrea started. Two days after there was blood in his stool. After a call to 811 (health line) we went straight to the emergency. There we waited 10 hours and he kept getting worse. He was on intravenous treatment for 10 days. Followed by 10 days of oral mega doses (8ml/3 times a day) for an additional 10 days. It was a hard time, and he still has so post traumatic reactions (doesn't like to be touched where the catheter was), and his digestion is not back to it's former state. We are simple thankful that it was caught in time. The fever started I bought a fruit basket on October 25. This one contained a cantaloupe. We cut it and served it to our 20-month-old son, who ate it over two days. Two days later, he started to have an interminent fever, and then diarrhea occurred. At first he seemed to keep his spirits up but then there was blood in his stool. From that moment on we were in the hospital and for 1 week I had to be on intravenous treatment. The battery was in his blood, he had septicemia. Once these were completed, he was prescribed a mega dose of antibiotic (8ml 3 times a day) for an additional 10 days. He was completely traumatized, so were we. His intestinal flora has not fully recovered, and he still has some post-traumatic reactions. This made me not want to go there anytime soon because I was really excited to try some Hardee's because I've heard such good things, but that made my experience unacceptable.
