The Cambridge Food Company Limited is recalling The Old Cheese Room Baronet and Baby Baronet Soft Cheeses because Listeria monocytogenes has been found in some batches of these products. The Cambridge Food Company Limited trades under the names Rennet & Rind and Cheese +. These products have been sold in England.The recalled products are:
- The Old Cheese Room Baronet Soft Cheese (1kg), Best before: 21 March 2023, 22 March 2023, 11 April 2023, 12 April 2023, 16 April 2023, 18 April 2023
- The Old Cheese Room Baby Baronet Soft Cheese (200g), Best before: 04 April 2023, 10 April 2023
If you have bought any of the affected products do not eat them. Instead, contact The Cambridge Food Company Limited to organise collection and receive a full refund.
Symptoms caused by Listeria monocytogenes can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis. Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.
