The doors were closed Thursday at El Rey Del Taco on Alton Gloor Road in Brownsville after the health department received reports of food poisoning.

"Right now, what we're doing is working with the city of Brownsville and these hospitals and medical providers to try and get some more information, including the lab results, which are still pending, to determine exactly what they are diagnosed with," said Esmeralda Guajardo, the Cameron County Health Administrator. Guajardo says between 25 and 30 people reported being ill, sending most of them to the hospital. She says the numbers could still go up.
