I stayed for a wedding from April 30 to May 6, 2019. I woke up violently ill the evening of the wedding (May 4th). I threw up uncontrollably for 5 to 6 hours and was hardly able to eat for several days after. My husband was feeling nauseous the day before and my daughter woke up nauseous the same day as myself. I personally felt I had food poisoning because I had never thrown up so violently. I didn’t have any mini bar drinks, but on the evening I woke up ill I switched from mostly drinking beer throughout the week that evening. Throughout the week I ate at various hotel restaurants: the dessert place, ice cream, pool food, rehearsal dinner, wedding appetizers & wedding dinner. I also viewed a small vehicle spraying a cloud of pesticides on two occasions and our hotel room was on the first floor with plants just outside our deck. Who knows what caused the vomiting, but just glad we’re all ok., . I was the only one in my family who vomited. Others wedding guests either didn’t feel great while in the DR and others upon returning home. Some assumed it was attributed to too much food & drink. Those that were ill upon returning home attributed it to a passenger that was ill on their flight home.
