On Saturday, Jan. 17, around 9:30 PM, I purchased a mango and pineapple salsa from the Acme at 309 S. 5th St. in Philly. I ate part of the salsa before 10 PM. At the time, I noticed the salsa had a strong smell, but I assumed it was the spices and seasoning. The next morning, Sunday Jan. 18, around 6 AM, I woke up with severe nausea, as well as diarrhea, fever, and chills. I was vomiting up to twice an hour while awake. It was difficult to keep down fluids. These symptoms lasted ~14 hours, until 8 or 9 PM.Update January 22nd, 2026:
I was feeling much better on Monday and Tuesday afternoon, but then I had another round of nausea, fever, and chills (though without vomiting) from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning. I'm in touch with my doctor's office about this. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fever, Chills
