Alert for Bismillah Halal Meats Ground Beef Due to Possible E. Coli O103

8 months ago source fsis.usda.gov business

279 Powers Ferry Road, Marietta, 30067 Georgia, United States

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for ground beef products sold by Bismillah Halal Meats due to possible E. coli O103 contamination. The products were sold directly to consumers from April 10-23, 2025. The product was sold by Bismillah Halal Meats, a retail market in Marietta, Ga. The contamination was discovered during a routine FSIS retail surveillance. A sample of the ground beef was collected and analyzed, revealing the presence of E. coli O103. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase.

The recalled product is:
- The raw ground beef
- The beef was weighed, wrapped, and labeled in-store at the time of purchase.
- The products do not bear an establishment number or the USDA mark of inspection, as they were produced under retail exemption.

Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to return it to where they purchased it.
