Chicken Burger Illness Alert - Birds Eye, Chesterfield England

3 years ago reported by user-xxmkw722

Birds Eye, Chesterfield, UK

Chesterfield, England, United Kingdom

I ate Birds Eye Quarter Pounder Chicken Burgers and as I was eating them found lumps of what looked like raw chicken and they didn’t taste right. I immediately threw the rest in the bin, but then became unwell through the night with vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, severe chills and joint pains. I couldn’t move without getting dizzy and faint. This lasted for 24 hours before being left with headaches, dizziness and joint pain. I couldn’t eat at all and could barely manage water for 24 hours. The burgers were cooked following the manufacturers instructions + a little extra time while I was preparing drinks etc. (as we always cook these burgers, we have them quite regularly) and they were piping hot all the way through when tested upon removal from the oven. Other than these lumps all the chicken was white and cooked, but didn’t taste right. I didn’t even risk putting them back in the oven for a bit longer to try and cook them more and I still got sick from the small amount I ate. Won’t be having them again after this. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Headache, Dizziness, Chills, Joint Pain, Lightheaded
