Chipotle Mexican Grill, 2300 Washington Place Northeast, Washington, DC, United States

2300 Washington Place Northeast, Washington, 20018 District of Columbia, United States

Wednesdays are my busiest day during the week. I do a lot of traveling from North Virginia to and thru The District of Columbia and back utilizing their bus and metro systems. I know it’s not healthy but I usually miss breakfast and dinner, only getting to eat once that day ; per my routine. On Wednesday, January 4, 2017, I treated myself at a Chipotle restaurant next to the Rhode Island Ave., Metro around 12PM. A few hours later that day, I felt extremely nauseous. However, with so much on my agenda to complete and with so little time to finish them, I fought feeling. Nonetheless, it continued throughout the day, in which I experienced a mild fever, vomiting (x2), and diarrhea(x5). As a former member of the Naval Health community, I quickly diagnose myself with food poisoning and began hydrating, in hopes of flushing out my system. The next day, Thursday, January 5, 2017, all of my prior symptoms were practically gone. However, my left scrotum felt kind of funny. Since I have not been sexually active for several months, I did not think too much about it but throughout the day it became a bit difficult to walk because they became extremely tender. The following day, Friday, January 6, 2017, I was admitted to Fairfax Hospital and diagnosed with epididymitis. This was extremely mind-boggling since that diagnosis is usually connected with bacteria exchange during sexual intercourse. But as stated earlier, I have not had any sexual activity in several months and until then I had been extremely healthy up until eating at Chipotle. Though I am a huge fan of chipotle, it is extremely important that the staff understands the importance of food safety regulations. Though it is very difficult to prove that my food poison played a part in my diagnosis I strongly believe that it did. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting
