Lead is a harmful substance that can have adverse effects on people of all ages and health conditions. It's crucial to be especially cautious when it comes to children, as they are more vulnerable to lead poisoning. Even though most children may not display immediate signs of lead exposure, it's important for parents and caregivers to seek advice from a healthcare professional if they suspect a child has been in contact with lead.
Short-term exposure to lead can lead to various symptoms, including headaches, abdominal pain or colic, vomiting, and anemia. Prolonged exposure to lead may result in additional symptoms such as irritability, lethargy, fatigue, muscle aches or a tingling/burning sensation, constipation, difficulty concentrating or muscular weakness, tremors, and weight loss.
