Zoo Food Truck Illness - Craft Fine food truck, Denver Colorado

6 years ago reported by user-cnvfk699

Craft Fine food truck, Steele St., CO, USA

Steele Street, Denver, Colorado, United States

For those of you not familiar with the area, the food truck sits at the Denver Zoo by the Bird World area. I don't know if they ever move it anywhere else but I believe that it typically stays in that area. If you visit here and go to the zoo, just bring your own lunch. The food at the zoo almost always makes me or someone I'm with sick.

Anyway, the "Craft Fine" food truck at the Denver Zoo got me horribly sick--moreso than usual. I'm lucky to have a decent immune system because I didn't end up vomiting and it went away after 9 hours or so, but I can't say the same for my friend. Her and I ordered the "Wingin it" burgers(her boyfriend ordered something else-- can't remember what it was but it didn't get him sick). Started with severe dehydration which led to a horrible migraine(the pain alone almost made me sick. Ended up fainting) then shaking, a fever, and persistent nausea. Kept me up almost all night. The food wasn't even very good(meat was overcooked and tasted kinda cheap) and it was fairly expensive for the taste of it. My friend enjoyed it at least. Not the food poisoning though.

Seriously though, if you can afford to bring your own food to the zoo, do it. The food there isn't very good and is always overpriced, and chances are something on the menu will get you sick. You can't bring your food with you everywhere in the zoo, but you can always save those areas(ex: Bird world is one you can't bring food in--pretty much all the indoors enclosures you can't bring food to) for after lunch. | Symptoms: Fever, Nausea, Dehydration, Shaking, Migraine
