Salmonella Infection at Resort - Hotel, Punta Cana La Altagracia

I had diarrhea for a week when I returned home from this resort. A week later came down with horrible stomach pain, diarrhea, chills, and fever. Confirmed salmonella typhi infection resulting in me being in the hospital for two weeks on antibiotics and major surgery to remove my appendix and 15cm of my colon due to the salmonella killing it and eating through to my abdomen. Definitely recommend getting vaccinated before traveling here as it seems salmonella and E. coli are common occurrences here. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Stomach Pain, Fever, Cramps, Chills, Headache
