Resort Illness: Suspect Cyclospora - Hotel, Quintana Roo

Returned home on Oct 10 from a one week stay at Excellence in Playa Mujeres. Did not eat or drink outside of the resort during travel or the stay. Evening of Oct 12, had an onset of extreme nausea and loss of appetite. This was accompanied by fatigue/muscle weakness and continued with low grade fevers for 4-5 days. Afterwards, some appetite returned but not fully recovered. Would have moments of extreme nausea for another 4-5 days as well as uncomfortable bloating and gas, and fatigue continued. A travel companion experienced the same symptoms which onset a week later for him (we live in different states so this further helped confirm that our stay at Excellence Playa Mujeres was the location of infection). Timing of symptom onset and symptoms suggest it may be Cyclosporiasis. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Fever, Bloating, Loss of Appetite, Gas, Weakness, Fatigue
