Parasite Infection from Salad - Hotel Riu, Bávaro La Altagracia

After arriving in resort and feeling unwell after 3 days I sort advice from the hotel doctor who treated me for a stomach bug using IV drip & antibiotics and was told it would be better in 24 hours. Guess what...... still I’ll 48 hours later so the doctor sent me to the hospital and I was diagnosed with a parasite infection and later an abscess caused by the diarrhoea which required 5 days in hospital & surgery! Moral of the story don’t eat the salad as it maybe washed in local water which is where we were told you can catch the parasite. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever
