Almond Date Drink Vomiting - Food Delivery, New York New York

6 years ago reported by user-wthb7783

New York, New York, United States

I ate products that arrived to me from the food subscription service Hungry Root, through www.HungryRoot.com. 2 hours after consuming the almond date cacao milk drink, I threw it back up. For 12 hours my tummy was upset and I was incredibly uncomfortable. Still feeling a bit sick and it's the next day. I've reported this to the company and while they sent me a refund, they also encouraged me to try them again. Hell no. Gave the store credit they sent me to a friend. Food quality for the company seems to be inconsistent according to the reviews on their Facebook page. DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM HUNGRY ROOT. | Symptoms: Vomiting

I drank the almond date cacao milk about 12 hours ago and feel just fine. Also, it was delicious. I'm sorry you had a bad experience and understand why you wouldn't order from them again, but just wanted to share my experience. I am in Atlanta, GA, and have ordered HungryRoot many times before. As long as my package does not sit out so long that the contents' temperature raises above the safe zone, and as long as the food does not expire, the food I've received has been safe to eat and I have not had any food poisoning. They are very quick to give refunds if a package is delivered too late or damaged, or if something has already gone bad. Watch for expanding gases and if packaging seems fit to burst, just throw away and ask for a refund. This goes for anything, not just HungryRoot. Perhaps a rigid plastic bottle makes this harder to determine than with their plastic tubs and bags.
