KFC Meal Triggers Hospitalization - KFC, Swakopmund Erongo Region

7 years ago reported by user-qfvm5986 business

KFC, Hendrik Witbooi, Swakopmund, Namibia

Hendrik Witbooi, Swakopmund, Erongo Region, Namibia

I ate at KFC in Swakopmund, Namibia, Nathaniel Maxuilili street, on May 14th of 2018, around h. 08:00 PM, and I spent 129,60 NAD, paid by credit card.
I ate 2 colonel burgers and one piece of chicken.
Symptoms were immediate: after one hour I suffered from diarrhea, nausea, abdominal cramps and fever (39 °C that very night). The following days symptoms went on, never stopped till today, June 3rd.
While in Namibia, I took some medicines I carried with me, such paracetamol, loperamide, lactic ferments.
As soon as I got back home, in Italy, Turin, I went to my doctor who gave me spasmomen and normix. Nothing changed.
So I went to emergency room 'cause the abdominal pain was intolerable and fever raised again. They gave me intravenous feeding and took a sample of my blood: C-reactive protein value was very altered.
They then decided to send me to the hospital Amedeo di Savoia, specialized in infectious diseases.
I started doing many medical examinations (blood, feces and urine), and I am now being looked after by a doctor specialized in post-travel diseases. On the next days I will probably have the ultimate diagnosis. I will keep you updated.
Regards
Fabio | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Cramps
