I bought a “your fresh market take ‘n bake Buffalo chicken flatbread” and cooked it accordingly. Tasted fine, smelt fine, not past due date. I’ve also had it a couple times before. So a couple hours after I ate it, I start getting really bad stomach pains,... See More sharp, and I get up to use the bathroom, maybe TMI but literally liquid poop (sorry) which Isn’t something normal to me so I was a little concerned. Anyway, didn’t think too much of it, bought another one the following week, ate it for a late supper, around 9pm which is a time I often eat/snack at, and don’t go to sleep for another couple of hours, all good, go to sleep, but wake up at about 5:50am with the worst stomach pains again, enough to wake me up out of my sleep, eventually the pains go away, I go back to sleep, and they come back again at 11am and wake me up again, so I just get up at that point, no need to use the bathroom, meaning not the same circumstances as the first incident. Pain goes away so go downstairs to cook some eggs for breakfast and randomly, the pains come back and have me hunched over in the kitchen. Literally so painful. Now I’m not someone who has food allergies, I’ve had this item before, both times the product was cooked through, maybe a little extra cooked because of a new stove we got recently, I use the bathroom regularly so it’s not due to anything being backed up. I’m making this report 12 hours after the last stomach pains and I can confidently say they’re not coming back but in the moment they are so painful. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Other, Stomach Pain See Less

The New York’s Department of Agriculture and Markets warned consumers not to consume unpasteurized raw milk from the farm of Eric and Jessica Nickol located at 995 County Highway 35, Maryland, NY 12116 in Otsego County due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. To date, no illnesses have... See More been reported to the Department associated with this product.

On November 9, 2022, the producer was notified of a preliminary positive test result. Further laboratory testing, completed on November 14, 2022, confirmed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the raw milk sample. The producer is now prohibited from selling raw milk until subsequent sampling indicates that the product is free of harmful bacteria.

The Department recommends that any consumers who purchased raw milk from the farm of Eric and Jessica Nickol immediately dispose of it.

Raw milk does not provide the protection of pasteurization. Pasteurization is a process that heats milk to a specific temperature for a set period of time. Pasteurization kills the bacteria responsible for numerous illnesses and diseases such as listeriosis, salmonellosis, campylobacteriosis, typhoid fever, tuberculosis, diphtheria, and brucellosis. Pasteurization of milk is recognized internationally as an effective means of preventing outbreaks of foodborne illnesses, including listeriosis.

In case you are experiencing Listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
