Purchased store brand hamburgers the Tuesday before thanksgiving and had bad diarrhea and cramps for 48 hours after. I thought they smelled and tasted a bit off, but didn’t think much of it. The odor was a bit sweet and tangy, like a weird barbecue sauce (not what fresh beef should smell like).I threw out the rest of that batch and tried a different one with a later sell-by date (first was 11/30, next was 12/4). Again, same bad smell. I didn’t want to risk it, so I went out a tried a different cut of beef that I bought today (11/29). It is sell-by 12/1, and the moment I open the package I smell what only reminds me of rancid barbecue sauce. Not what fresh beef should smell like, and it seems like it is in different packages of house-prepared beef with different sell-by dates. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Stomach Pain, Cramps
