Bacterial Infection at Resort - Occidental Punta Cana, Punta Cana La Altagracia

Went to the all inclusive and started getting sick on day two. After three days of being violently ill, I went to the hotel clinic who told me I got a bacterial infection from traveling and gave me antibiotics to take. A couple days later, I started dedicating blood. I felt weak and exhausted and like my body was literally shutting down. We went back to the clinic who wanted to admit me to the hospital. Out of concern, we simply cut our trip short and returned back home to the US. We tried reporting it to hotel management but they said there were no other reported cases. Despite communicating non stop with management my condition, they still charged us for the entire time even though we had to cut our trip short. They accused me of leaving the property and eating something else. Worst trip ever and so thankful to have escaped in one piece after reading all of these stories. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Weakness
