Norovirus Pizza Warning - Peter’s Pizza, Clarenville Newfoundland and Labrador

3 years ago reported by user-tqnhg676 business

Peter’s Pizza, Manitoba Drive, Clarenville, NL, Canada

76 Manitoba Drive, Clarenville, A5A 1K6 Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

April 19, 2022, Pizza from here is as contaminated. Hospital confirmed my husband contacted Norwalk virus. Dehydration involving 4 day hospitalization of one family member.

05/11 Update: My husband is still sick. People need to be made aware that the very young, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with a weak immune system can become seriously ill from food poisoning. Please alert others that pizza is one of the foods that can often contain toxins if it is not carefully prepared by food handlers trained in the safe handling of food.

05/17 update: On public record, there is a government of Newfoundland inspection report for this place. It is dated February 4, 2022. Food inspectors were called to the restaurant in response to an anonymous complaint. The inspection revealed that the main freezer was broken, and that the products were thawed out. I am continuing to work with local food inspector to gain more information concerning how to monitor this place. Thanks for alerting the public that eating pizza carries a greater than 'average' risk of food poisoning. It is a good idea that immunocompromised individuals try to avoid pizza. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Dehydration
