Tom Yum Soup Illness - Thai Express Restaurant Barrie, Barrie Ontario

3 years ago reported by user-nbzb2751 business

Thai Express Restaurant Barrie, Georgian Mall, Bayfield Street, Barrie, ON, Canada

509 Bayfield Street, Barrie, L4M 4Z8 Ontario, Canada

Within about two hours of eating tom yum soup with chicken and a chicken stir fry I experienced the following symptoms:

[1] I began to feel as if I had a fever and was overcome by severe nausea and vertigo

[2] About 3 hours after eating the food I began to violently vomit and this continued repeatedly for about 15 minutes.

[3] About half an hour after the first round of violent vomiting it happened again for another half hour - I was unable to stop throwing up.

[4] This was only last night. I have had severe nausea and pain throughout my stomach, throat and digestive track, with the runs, and I still feel like I have a fever.

[5] While vomiting, I was overwhelmed by what tasted like rotten cilantro and a burning noxious chemical taste that I cannot identify but it did not resemble food.

[6] I have ordered this same dish from this same location over 50 times in 3 years and hundreds of times from their Montreal locations.

[7] It is obvious that this food poisoning is either a result of food-borne disease or the use of toxic ingredients not normally present in the food of this location.

I suspect this may be the result of a cost saving measure by this franchisee due to inflation and associated increased costs of fresh produce. I want to know what I was exposed to such that other people do not have to be made profoundly ill. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fever, Other, Stomach Pain
