Recall details: Whole Foods Market is voluntarily recalling packaged popcorn chicken wi... See Moreth sweet chili sauce across 26 stores in Northern California and Reno, Nevada. The product is being recalled because it may contain undeclared shellfish (shrimp) that was not listed on the product label due to mislabeling. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to shellfish run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The affected products were sold at the below Whole Foods Market locations. The product was sold in plastic containers in the prepared foods department and was labeled as “Popcorn Chicken Shaker with Sweet Chili” with sell by dates through Nov. 27, 2020.
The product can be identified by the PLU number 81789 on the scale label near the UPC. All affected product has been removed from store shelves. A girlfriend and I went through drive through ordered and after we went home I stated to eat the shrimp cocktail and part of the juevos rancheros a few bites later and a few bites of my burrito with refried beans and relleno chilli & cheese started to feel nauseated and then started to vomit and it was a lot of rapid vomiting in which I could not stop for 20 mins. With dry heaves I felt dehydrated and kept drinking water; I also had dirarrhea and don't feel well as of last night. I feel dehydrated and I am very disappointed in their quality of food and presentation and the lady cashier wasn't very friendly at first when I went to order in the drive through I felt rushed to order and when she took my card she was kind of rude about me using partial cash and partial card. She was not very communicative. We did not receive our drinks Also. Also my girlfriend's taco salad had a watery substance in the container and it didn't look good or taste very good and it was very unusual. It was mushy. Recall details: Hy-Vee, Inc., based in West Des Moines, Iowa, is voluntarily recall... See Moreing two of its Hy-Vee Short Cuts vegetable mix products across its eight-state region (IL, IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, SD, and WI) due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The potential for contamination was discovered during routine safety sampling at Hy-Vee’s Short Cuts production facility. To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with these products.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. Out of an abundance of caution, Hy-Vee is recalling the following products from all of its stores:

- Hy-Vee Short Cuts Grill/Oven Ready Veggie Mix – UPC Code 0272104105992
All affected products have a “Best if Used By” date of Dec. 3, 2020. Photos of the affected product labels are attached. No other Hy-Vee Short Cuts products or products used in Hy-Vee stores are affected by this recall.
Customers who purchased any of these products with these dates should not consume them. Customers are being asked to discard these items or return them to their local Hy-Vee store for a full refund. FSIS advises consumers not to eat the recalled products and to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. The ready-to-eat grilled chicken breast items were produced on October 23, 2020. The cases containing the products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-8119” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to institution locations in California and were sold directly to retail consumers. The following products are subject to recall:
- MARY’S FULLY COOKED CHICKEN BREAST. 10-lb. cases. Lot code: 20297. Use by date 10/23/21.
The problem was discovered when the firm received a customer complaint that the ready-to-eat chicken product appeared to be undercooked.
