Canned Sardines Illness Alert - Whole Foods Market, Los Angeles California

10 months ago reported by user-kmbc5571 business

Whole Foods Market, National Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA, USA

11666 National Boulevard, Los Angeles, 90064 California, United States

Hi, I had some promoted canned sardines with potato chips from whole food market at 12/14 10pm, then about an hour later I started to feel nauseous. I puked my dinner out and I started to have diarrhea until now. In whole day 12/15, I kept feeling nauseous, cramp in the stomach, numbness on limbs, fatigue. I kept puking and having diarrhea. The symptoms lasted for all day. I’m pretty sure at this point I’m food poisoned. I can’t leave the bed right now. The company is called fishwife Tinned Seafood Co. The product is called sardines with preserved lemon. Thanks. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Numbness, Fatigue

And I hate how this brand was so heavily promoted by social media influencers. Namely, Tinx.

My question is, what did you eat for dinner? Food poisoning typically does not start after one hour.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Foodborne diseases, in general, refer to more than 250 kinds of disease-causing germs. In the majority of people with mild to moderate symptoms of food poisoning (viral and bacterial), symptoms may resolve in about 24 to 48 hours and there is no additional medical treatment needed. But food poisoning can also take more than a few days or even weeks to resolve. Additionally, you can get sick from food that quickly. TIP: If the contamination is chemical or physical, symptoms can start within minutes. If it is biological contamination, it can start as fast as 30 minutes (e.g. Staph). Other types of contamination can take longer, it all depends on what it was, but it can be fast.
