The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 22,530 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat beef chili with beans products by J.T.M. Provisions Company that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically white plastic. These products were purchased by USDA Foods for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and were... See More shipped to distributors in California, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Wisconsin. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

The recalled product is:
- 30-lb. case of “CHILI WITH BEANS” containing six 5-lb. boilable bags of “CP5309 CHILI WITH BEANS” with lot code 23058 printed on the bag, and “February 27, 2023” and lot code 23058 printed on the case.

The affected product was produced on February 27, 2023, and bears the establishment number “EST. 1917” inside the USDA mark of inspection on the case.

The problem was discovered after the company received a customer complaint about semi-rigid white plastic material found in the frozen, ready-to-eat beef chili with beans and notified FSIS.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in school freezers or refrigerators. School nutrition professionals who have purchased these products are urged not to prepare or consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Mike's Star Market in Eau Claire, Wis., is issuing a voluntary Class I recall for their packaged poultry products because they were produced without the benefit of inspection. These products were sold in Amanda's Eggs and Poultry online store and retail store near Chippewa Falls, Wis., and... See More possibly at other retail locations in the area. No illnesses have been reported as a result of consuming these products.

The recalled products are:
- Smoked turkey breasts, wing paddles and drumsticks, sold in vacuum-sealed bags carrying a use by date of 10/8/23
- Ground turkey, s​old in 1-lb. packages, carrying a use by date of 5/3/24
- Whole cut-up chicken (wings, thighs, bone-in breasts, quartered chicken legs, backs and necks, and drumsticks) with a use by date on or before 2/7/24

The product labels carry a mark of inspection with establishment No. 787, and may carry an Amanda's Eggs and Poultry label in addition to the Mike's Star Market label.

Consumers who have these products can discard them.
