The Bear River Health Department is investigating an E. coli outbreak in Cache County, UT. To date, six cases have been reported to the Health department. The source of the infection has not yet been identified.The health department, in conjunction with the state health department and the Utah State Laboratory, is actively investigating to establish any potential links between the reported cases and find the origin of the E. coli. Despite these reports, the health department assures that there is currently no risk to the general public, but encourages residents to maintain good hygiene, particularly with regards to handling and preparing food.
