Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar linked to Norovirus Outbreak

Mayo University Hospital (MUH) is dealing with a Norovirus outbreak in one of their wards, because of that, they are advising that visits to the affected ward will be restricted to those who have reason to visit on compassionate grounds.

MUH is also requesting that people do not visit the hospital if they are feeling unwell from symptoms of winter vomiting or flu-like symptoms, also they are appealing to the public not to visit the hospital if they have had contact with people with diarrhea and/or vomiting. These measures are vital to avoid spreading the virus to sick vulnerable patients.
