The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) announced a recent norovirus outbreak linked to a food service establishment named Gerry’s Donuts in Ellington.North Central District Health Department is warning consumers not to eat any food from this establishment because they have recently received several gastrointestinal ill reports for eating donuts from there. Gerry’s Donuts is currently closed while the investigation is ongoing.
Connecticut DPH informs that this is the second foodborne outbreak of norovirus reported in 2021 and a reminder of the importance of preventing foodborne illnesses. In 2020, there were three, all occurring between January - first week of March.
