5 days ago source fda.gov

United States

A multistate outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium infections has been linked to Live it Up-brand Super Greens dietary supplement powder, produced by Superfoods, Inc. of New York, NY. The outbreak has affected 45 individuals across 21 states, with 12 hospitalizations reported. The FDA and CDC are actively investigating the situation.

The affected product includes both original and wild berry flavors of the Super Greens dietary supplement powder, with expiration dates ranging from August 2026 to January 2028. The product is primarily sold online through the Live it Up website and major retailers such as Amazon, eBay, and Walmart. Illnesses began between August 22, 2025, and December 30, 2025, with symptoms typically appearing 12 to 72 hours after consumption.

The outbreak was identified through epidemiological data collected by the CDC, which revealed that 16 out of 20 individuals with available information had consumed the product before falling ill. The FDA has recommended a recall of the affected products, and Superfoods, Inc. has agreed to initiate a voluntary recall. The FDA is conducting a traceback investigation to determine the source of contamination
