The Learning Garden in Warwick linked to a Noro-like illness outbreak

4 years ago source golocalprov.com business

295 Warwick Neck Avenue, Warwick, 02889 Rhode Island, United States

The Rhode Island Department of Health's (RIDOH) Center for Acute Infectious Disease Epidemiology (CAIDE) identified a Noro-like illness outbreak at The Learning Garden in Warwick last Thursday. The symptoms that students are having are common with stomach viruses, such as norovirus, which typically cause illness for one to two days and then pass.

The school has been advised to use appropriate products when conducting the extensive cleaning of the school. CAIDE advises healthcare providers to have a high index of diagnostic suspicion in anyone from The Learning Garden in Warwick with severe nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

In case you experience vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea, report it now. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
