The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) has issued a warning against consuming cheese curds and blocks potentially from unauthorized sources, sold in the parking lot of a business at 301, rue de l'Hôtel-de-Ville, Brownsburg-Chatham, Quebec. Consuming dairy products from unauthorized sources poses a risk of foodborne illness caused by bacteria such as Salmonella, Campylobacter, and E. coli O157:H7.AFFECTED PRODUCT
- The cheeses were sold in clear plastic bags without labels
- Were available until May 24, 2026, exclusively at the specified location.
- The sale of dairy products from unauthorized sources is prohibited in Quebec due to health risks.
This precautionary warning follows the discovery of the unauthorized sale. The recall is classified as Class 1, indicating a high health risk.
