On July 19th, my husband, myself and two friends ate from the prepared foods bar at Whole Foods on Lane Ave. Items consumed: chicken salad sandwich, chicken curry masala, and creamy chicken salad. All four of us experienced 7-10 days of extreme nausea, diarrhea and some vomitting. I seemed to be the worst affected and went to the doctor, who prescribed a strong antibiotic, which got me on the road to health. My husband lost 10 lbs and I lost 5 lbs. I called and reported it to Whole Foods. It seems impossible that we were the only people affected. Because it lasts so long, I think some people are probably inclined to think they have a virus (vs. food-borne), but I have contracted campylobacter before (11 years ago in China) and know how long it can take bacterial infections to subside.
