Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Cramps

Digiorno rising crust supreme pizza, We ate the digiorno rising crust supreme pizza and within an hour I threw up after eating it and felt my stomach turning. A couple hours after that I was in the bathroom recreating war crimes with my toilet. Had severe stomach... See More cramps and the moment I saw that bathroom all hell broke loose and the flood gates opened and it felt like I was fighting for my life on that toilet trying to have it not come out both ends with the hot lava that was ejecting from my body. The worse has yet to come as my boyfriend is fighting the ferocious battle as I’m typing. Pray for me and my family toilet as it will be a long night as liquid death evacuates our bodies. Now this all may sound like a joke to you but I can assure you that I am only coping with humor for this tragic and traumatic event. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Cramps See Less

Well, I hate to be a naysayer and pile on to your suffering but, based on my experience with food poisoning, and I unfortunately have plenty of experience with it, unless you bought the pizza already cooked by the grocery store, it was you who may have caused your own food poisoning as you may have undercooked the ingredients and if you ate undercooked meats, that's what did it to you. I'm not going to say that it isn't possible that there was something wrong with the product but, if the pizza was a frozen product, it all depends on who cooked it and if it was cooked correctly.

I hate to say this but the majority of frozen pizzas have fully cooked ingredients to avoid this very thing. IF the pizza was thawed and refrozen at any time during it's journey from factory to table it could have been compromised and started to grow bacteria.

Hi, thank you for your comment. TIP: It is common to get food poisoning from Pizza. Frozen pizza has been linked to E. coli and restaurant pizza contains high-risk ingredients that can cause food poisoning if mishandled. The main culprit is often raw eggs in undercooked dough, but toppings like meat and cheese can contain Listeria.

Have a good day!

I am not sure what your definition of common is. I have not once had food poisoning from any pizza in all of the 30 years I have lived. Grocery store foods, especially packaged foods that have not been open should hypothetically be pretty safe to consume, assuming they are properly cooked. Yes, there are things that could go wrong in the manufacturing process, but I wouldn't call that common. I wouldn't say it is that common to completely mishandle frozen foods after coming from the factory before they are put on shelves. What do I know though.

I should mention that a lot of what people think of as food poisoning from the last thing they ate could be viral related rather than bacterial related, so you can't really know it is food poisoning for sure unless you get tested at a hospital. The pizza may not even of been the culprit here.

Hi, thanks for your comment. TIP: Frozen food can cause food poisoning, most commonly via Listeria, a pathogen that can survive freezing. In July 2021 a Listeria outbreak related to frozen fully cooked chicken caused three hospitalizations and one death.

Have a great day!
