The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 3,436 pounds of boneless beef chuck product by Elkhorn Valley Packing because it may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) O103. This product was shipped to distributors, federal establishments, retail locations, and wholesale locations, which includes hotels, restaurants,... See More and institutions, in Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Consumers are advised not to use or further distribute the product, and to throw it away or return it to the place of purchase. To ensure the product is cooked to a temperature high enough to kill harmful bacteria, a food thermometer should be used to measure the internal temperature.
